Hey, What Did You Ever Do With That Money?
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends!
I took it and bought myself a new pair of skinny jeans!
Just joshin' ya!
Sorry it's been a minute since I got back to you about the extra $82 I noticed on my checking statement a few weeks back. I pretty much decided pretty early on to return it. At first I was trying to come up with some alternatives to donating to a good cause, but then I got all caught up with school, then Hillary came to visit and I just haven't thought that much about it - until now!
As you can tell from the poll, the vote was practically split in half. I thought it would be a really fun idea to take it and donate it, but some of you thought it wouldn't be the right thing to do - karmicly. Is that a word? It is today!
The one comment that really got to me was the "be a good Kentucky boy and return it." I'm not sure who that was - but it worked. I'm giving it back, Bloggy Friends!
It was a fun concept, but in the end I guess if I am going to donate money it should be my own. That would benefit everyone involved. Maybe one day we can all get together and decide on a way to gather money and donate it to a good cause, but right now I'm just pulled at both ends as I am trying to finish up my last two weeks of school.
So, that's the story! Ironically, I noticed this week that there is a new show starting on the BBC this weekend called ROBIN HOOD. We are both excited to check it out. I love historical mini-series. I know it's a mythical tale - but there's history involved!
Have a great day, Bloggy Friends. I hope you have weekend plans that suit you to a tee!
Love, Josh

Health Beat: Your Real Age
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends. My brother told me about an interesting site online today that will evaluate your health situation, tell you your life expectancy and even give you tips on how you can increase your years. It is called BLUE ZONES. If you go to the link it will ask you to register on the site to take the "Vitality Compass" test. It is a really quick process to sign up.
I was happy with my results. They predicted that my "real age" is 23 years old, that I should live to be nearly 97 and if I improve upon certain things I can add another 21 years to that! Will you still read my blog when I'm 120 years old? I hope so!
I found it really interesting, so I thought I would share it with you. Feel free to share your results! Have a great night.
Love, Josh

More Pics from the Hillary Rally!
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends! Here are more pictures from our trip to the rally Monday night. I know there have been a lot of Hillary posts this week, but just bare with me for a minute while I calm down from excitement! Don't miss the video I posted of the evening a few posts down. Double Digits, Baby!
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends!

You couldn't wipe the smile off my face today! I'm sure most of you already know, but Hillary pulled out an amazing win last night here in Pennsylvania. She overwhelmingly took the state and even a larger percentage of Philadelphia than they had originally projected. This is all despite being outspent 3 to 1 in the state by her rival! I'm very proud and excited for her. I know she is reeling - but you're right it isn't over yet. Over the next month expect to hear a lot on the news about the remaining primaries in states like Oregon, West Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, and my home state - good ole Kentucky! I'm sure things will quiet down considerably here in Philadelphia. It's kind of like Christmas - you wait all month for it then it's over and you're moving on! Wish her luck in the coming month. I really want to see her take this!

Hillary @ UPenn!
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends!
Today is the big day that I have been waiting a long time for! Pennsylvanians are finally heading to the polls to make their decision on who they think should be the Democratic presidential nominee. It felt so good to finally walk into that booth and push that VOTE button. I don't think I need to tell you who I pushed it for! Philadelphia had been buzzing with excitement over the past week - this election is inspiring a great deal of passion in people. It's so awesome.
Last night the Clinton's held one last rally at UPenn here in Philadelphia. I almost didn't go, but some friends from work talked me into it at the last minute. I am so glad I did. It was one of the most exciting, uplifting events I have ever attended in my life. We were blessed to find spots on the ground near the entrance. We had a chance to meet all of them, get pictures, autographs and handshakes on their way in and the way out! They obviously made themselves very available to the crowd - which I found extremely impressive. I was a little worried when I talked to them, though, because I had just eaten a falafel wrap and was afraid I had serious garlic breath!
Chelsea, Bill and Hillary gave uplifting speeches. They were fired up and completely right on point. The speech Hillary gave may have been the very best I have ever heard her give. Without jargon, she laid it all out on the table and had the entire crowd going crazy. I was sure that she would make a great president before, but after seeing her last night there is not a doubt left in my head. She wants this so passionately and she really wants to make a positive change in this country.
My experience last night was undoubtedly a dream come true. This was the very first time I have ever seen an actual President. He was very approachable and even carried on quick conversations with some of the guys in the crowd around us. He reminded me of my Dad. Chelsea was sweet, pretty and the easiest to approach. It was such a blessing to walk away with pictures of them - but the highlight of my evening was when I shook Hillary's hand, told her good luck - and then she looked at me and said "Thank you." My heart melted.
I have made a quick video of the evening. It was hard to squeeze it all into 5 minutes, but I did the best I could. Enjoy! I am headed down to watch CNN - it's 8pm and the polls are just now closing. Good luck, Hillary!!
Love you all!

Hillary Clinton '08!
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends!
I have spared you too many Hillary posts as of late, but today I'm going to momentarily break my silence! Tomorrow is the long awaited Pennsylvania primary that I have been looking forward to for months. As you can imagine we have been bombarded by rallies, commercials, flyers and anything else that has proven effective in getting the word out for the candidates. My stance for Hillary Clinton, however has stood it's ground. We have been given two exceptional candidates to choose from but I believe Hillary would do the best job in the White House. She will provide realistic hope for a whole country of people who are screaming for change. She comes with the experience that is needed in this day and time to help turn the country around - back to where it needs to be. The knowledge she has gained from prior experience will make her the best candidate to help fix the economy and to make educated, well devised strategies for leaving Iraq. The thing that impresses me most about Hillary is her ability to fight, uninhibitedly, for what she believes in. She has proven time and time again that she will not digress in her efforts to achieve the obstacles she has placed before her. She comes to the table with well-thought out plans to successfully accomplish the monstrous tasks that will await her in the Oval Office.
More than anything this blog is for the voters who will head to the ballots boxes in the coming months. If you are undecided, I ask you to consider the two candidates as if you were employing them for a job - and this job just so happens to be one of the greatest positions in the world. Wouldn't you want to employ the person who you know and trust - especially given the shape this country is presently in? There is no time to take chances on a candidate who has wonderful things to say, but few actual plans to get them done. I believe Hillary Clinton has the know-how to get things done and to make this country a stronger, more flourishing place to live.
To my Bloggy Friends who are not Hillary supporters - I love and support you in whatever decision you have made. This is just my opinion and I felt like expressing it today!
Have a great afternoon. Don't forget to vote. Get out there and make your voices heard! Tonight I am going to a final Hillary Clinton rally to see not only her - but Bill and Chelsea as well! I'll try to get some videos.
Love, Josh

Weekend Fun!
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends!
How are ya today? I hope you've had a great weekend. It has been very sunny and nice in Philadelphia over the past week. I love this warm weather. It was nice when this weekend finally rolled around, because things at school are really starting to pick up for the last time before classes end on May 5. I have a ton of papers and assignments due in a short period of time, so don't be surprised if you don't hear much from me over the coming weeks. Just imagine me knee deep in text books and send a special blessing my way!
We had a fantastic weekend. On Saturday Alan and I met up with his aunt Jude to see the current play at the Philadelphia Theatre Company, Third by Wendy Wasserstein. It was such a wonderfully written, sweet show. This is actually the last play ever written by Wasserstein, she passed away less than two years ago after a long battle with breast cancer. You may recognize the names of some of her other plays, such as An American Daughter and The Heidi Chronicles. We all loved it very much. If you have a chance to see this show, or another by Wendy Wasserstein, I highly suggest you get a ticket.
After the show the three of us strolled around Center City for a while before we went back to Jude's home for dinner. Waiting for us there was her always humorous husband, Lou. Throughout the course of the evening we chatted over wine and snacked on hors devours before finally enjoying one of the very best meals I have had in Philadelphia thus far. Jude is a fantastic cook, and I'm not just saying that because she may be reading! She confesses that cooking is one of her favorite pastimes. I can tell that she sees it as a form of artistic expression because the presentation was magnificent and the blending of tastes was out of this world delicious! She served us a whole fish (trout seasoned with rosemary, parsley, lemon and garlic), steamed asparagus, new potatoes and a scrumptious side salad of mixed greens. We were then served delicious tarts, from a local bakery, for dessert. Bloggy Friends, it was all so good. I hope you have someone in your lives who can cook like this for you from time to time. Thanks, Jude! There's nothing like a homecooked meal.
Today we haven't done much but take care of a few errands like shopping for groceries and taking out the garbage. It has been nice to lay around and relax before we start our weeks over again tomorrow. Alan worked a little in the backyard. He has been pulling weeds and cleaning it up to get ready for the summer. It is so nice to have a porch and a yard to lounge in! Perhaps we'll plant a bush or some flowers to admire during the warm months. I did watch about an hour of the Papal Mass today. I found it fascinating. I'm just amazed at the amount of grandeur and ceremony that goes into such an occasion. I am not Catholic so I don't really understand the importance of having the Pope visit America. There must be something huge about it, though, there were over 50,000 people packed into Yankee stadium. I was just intrigued by the mixture of spirituality and apparent celebrity that goes along with being the Pope. He's a diva!
Well, I guess I'll run for now. I hope you guys have a fantastic start to the new week. Luckily I'll be off of work over the next few weeks because this weekend was the closing for Third. I'll start back again when the next show begins. It's a blessing to have this time off during the last few weeks of school and finals. I'll talk to you soon!
Love you,
Josh

Bloggy Friend Bill In The House.
Homecoming Cousin!
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends!
My cousin, Whitney, competed this weekend in the Miss Kentucky Homecoming Queen Pageant. I blogged this past fall about her winning Homecoming Queen at my alma mater, Garrard County High School. This particular pageant rounds up all the queens across Kentucky to pick one lady who will represent the whole state. Kentucky is one of those huge pageant places. They can find a reason to crown and sash a girl out of any occasion! Anyways....
She did really well, and looked very beautiful. She didn't take home the top crown, but she did get Third Runner-Up, which is a pretty big deal. I think she will walk away with some scholarships and stuff like that, so she ain't complaining!
Whitney is Robin's daughter, my aunt who's having a birthday today. She is a senior in high school and has big plans for college in the fall. Join me in congratulating her. I am very proud!
Love you all,
Josh
Here she is pictured with her sister, Chelsea and my Mom, Kim.

Birthday Shout-Out: My Aunt Robin!
Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends!

Today is a very special day. One of my most favorite people in the world is celebrating her birthday - my Aunt Robin (pictured above with her daughter, Whitney). As a kid I spent a great deal of time with her. She was a teenager when I was born, so when she got her car she used to drive me around all over the place. One of my best memories is when she would take me to see the Easter Bunny at K-Mart every Easter. When she got married a little later, I would stay with her a lot. We would always have a great time shopping, watching movies and taking trips to amusement parks. She is such a funny, outgoing, beautiful person that I count as one of my biggest blessings in life. I love her so much.
She is one of my Mom's younger sisters. She lives in Lancaster and has two daughters - Chelsea and Whitney. She spends a lot of her time creating things like quilts and other kinds of artistic projects. I think she is one of the people who gave me the inspiration to create things. Lately her big thing has been to make quilts with pictures on them. For Christmas a few years ago she made me one with tons of pictures that celebrate my whole life from a kid until now. It's one of my most special treasures.
Everyone join me in wishing a Happy Birthday to my Aunt Robin. She deserves the best one ever for her kind, generous, open-minded spirit. I love you so much and I'm so glad you were born!
Have a great day, Bloggy Friends. It's a sunny one in Philadelphia!

Newest Galileo Picture!
Good afternoon, Bloggy Friends!
Here is the newest picture of Galileo. It looks like he's growing fast! We will be getting him in about three weeks. I hope he doesn't get too much bigger! He's such a doll. I can't wait.
I had an awesome time with Bloggy Friend Bill yesterday. He was just as awesome as I expected him to be - no, he was even more awesome! We were also able to meet his partner, Gary for the first time. He is also such a great guy. Look out for a video in the coming week, just as soon as I have a chance to put it together.
We are waiting for our friends Pat and Sara to get here. It will be nice to see some familiar faces from San Francisco.
I hope you guys have had an awesome weekend. Ours has been jam-packed but fulfilling!
Talk to ya soon.
Love, Josh

Sunny Wackness!
Hello.Hey Bloggy Friends!
Today was the best day of the year so far! It was so warm, sunny and gorgeous. I loved it! I cut my second class to go spend some time in the city. So, I ventured over to Rittenhouse Square, which was so full of people. I'm not usually big on crowds, but today could do no wrong. It was great sitting there in the sun, people watching and trying to stay focused on notes for my Sociolgy test tomorrow. I am so happy the warm weather is here. Fromw what I saw today, Philly is going to be an amazing place to be in the summer. I can't wait!
Last night after work I went with some friends to see a movie that is a part of the 2008 Annual Philadelphia Film Festival. On the schedule it was referred to as "Mystery Movie," so no one knew what they were going to see beforehand. I was a little nervous that it would suck, but it turned out to be one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It was a coming of age film called "Wackness." Click HERE for a great review. I guarantee you'll love it. One of my favorite things about it is that it takes place in 1994, so there are tons of hilarious 90's references that I, and a lot of my Bloggy Friends, will appreciate. I don't think it will be released nationally until July or August, so when it comes around check it out. It was a favorite at this year's Sundance Festival.
I hope you guys are having an awesome week. I have been really busy. I had two tests this week that I've had to crack down and study for like crazy. I think I did really well, though, so it was all worth it! I'm looking forward to this weekend when Bloggy Friend Bill comes to visit for the first time! We also have two other friends coming from San Francisco on Sunday, so we'll have a busy visitor-filled weekend!
Have a great night. I'll talk to you soon :)
Love, Joshka Jenkins

I wanted to drop by and share the newest picture we received of Galileo. Isn't he a cutie! I can't wait to get him home.
Have a good one!

Josh Hood or Josh from the Hood?
Hello.Hey Bloggy Friends!
So, I come today bearing an interesting topic. It could be rather controversial, so keep an open mind! I just thought it could promote some interesting conversation, and maybe a few opinions that would get our minds working. Maybe it's not a big deal at all and I'm just hyping it up too much. Whatever the case, here goes...
Recently I returned some books that I don't need to a large, corporate bookstore here in Philadelhpia. My credit was like $82. A few days later I noticed that the credit appeared twice on my bank statement!
Of course my first reaction was, "oh, I need to go back and return the money." But last night Alan and I watched a documentary about how evil corporate America could be. And in class today someone mentioned Robin Hood and a big light bulb lit up over my head.
Wonder if I take that extra $82 and donate it to an smaller organization, like one that provides books to sick children, or to schools that can't afford books for it's students. Maybe I could give it to Dolly's Imagination Library, that provides books to children from birth to like five years of age in her hometown of Sevierville, TN.
I could be like Robin Hood, except I didn't actually steal the money - it just landed in my lap!
What do you think, Bloggy Friends? Is it totally wrong of me to think this? Should I just return the money to the bookstore it came from? Should I donate it to a cause that is less fortunate?
I'll put up another poll to the right for you to vote on and we can decide together! I also welcome any comments. Since it may be rather controversial you are welcome to respond anonymously so no one, including me, will know your opinion.
In the end we could come up with an organization to donate it to, if any, and I can donate it in the name of "Josh and his Bloggy Friends!" It could be a fun bonding experience.
Anyways. I hope you guys have an awesome weekend. I look forward to seeing your opinions!!
Love, Josh

Funny Hillary
Did you guys see Hillary on Jay Leno last night? She was so funny. I really enjoyed the segment. She seemed more comfortable and free-flowing than I have seen her in the past. I think it will be a positive thing if people see that she has a humorous, light-hearted side to her. I love her. Here's the video below in case you missed it! It's in two parts.

Introducing.........Galileo Sugar!
Well the day has finally come and most of you were right. We have a new addition to the family!
Hellohey, Bloggy Friends,
I have been wanting a Yorkshire Terrier (or Yorkie) since I was a kid. I always thought they were the cutest dogs to ever live. When we first got to PA and moved into this big apartment we thought it was a good chance to finally get one, but once we started work/school it didn't seem like our schedules would allow us the time. Plus, everywhere we looked they were so expensive - thousands of ridiculous dollars. Not that they aren't worth that, but come on! So, we got our two kitties and have been so happy with them.
Well recently my friend, Craig, called and said his Yorkie just had puppies and he is selling them. They are pure bred and he was going to sell them at a much more reasonable price than we have found before. So we talked about it and decided to go through with it! I'm so excited.

At this point he is only about three weeks old and still has to be with his mother. We will be able to pick him up around the first of May when he is around eight weeks. The picture above is the only one I have at the moment, and that was taken just before his eyes were opened up. Doesn't he look so cute and perfect? Craig actually lives in Louisville, so we are going to have to make a quick trip home one weekend to pick him up. It isn't the most ideal of situations, but we'll work it out.
I can't wait to bring him home and see how the kitties react to him. They are two of the sweetest, most affectionate cats I've ever owned, so I think they will really adapt well. They are great with strangers. They are also so playful, so I think they will all have a ball running around together like good brothers and sisters.
Alan chose the name Galileo, because it was Galileo, the physicist, that inspired him to go into science when he was at Vanderbilt, in Nashville. I love the name.
Anyways. Thanks for voting in the poll and for making it fun for me to post and act sly this week! It was fun to pretend like everyone was in suspense, even though I knew most of you had used your clever noggins to figure it out!
Have a great day and be sure to catch updates in the future on further Galileo developments. I'll share pictures as I get them and will surely make a video of our trip to KY in a few weeks.
Love ya'll!
Josh
P.S. I found a cute video on YouTube that I like to watch over and over. Can you believe I'm gonna have one of these little things running around my house in a few weeks!?!?!?!

Chilly Willy the Joshquin: Random Toots
Hellohey, Bloggy Friends!
I was so optimistic about the weather this morning when I left my house that I wore a t-shirt under a light hoody. I mean, the sun was beaming, the birds were singing. It had to be warm!
Well it wasn't. By the time I got outside I was already pushing for time, so I just didn't have a chance to run back in and put on something warmer. Otherwise, I would have missed my train, missed my class and my whole day would have just went to poopy balls.
Now as the day progresses I am still out and about and it is only getting colder. I feel like Chilly Willy the Penguin. Do you guys remember that cartoon? It came on in the middle of Woody Woodpecker when we would get home from school. I just loved him. I can still sing the theme song to this day - and I do whenever I catch that dreadful chill.
Wherever you are Bloggy Friends I hope you are warm and cozy. Chilly Willy seemed warm and cozy even when he was laid up in his little igloo. I guess that penguin skin helps insulate the warmth. I don't have penguin skin, though, so I have to just tough it out until I get home.
Ha-Hee-Hachoo!,
Josh

Whitney?
Oh I wish, but Whitney just isn't on tour at the moment.
Hellohey, Bloggy Friends!
One day I will see Whitney and not only that - but one day I'll sing with her on stage! I have always envisioned myself singing one of her songs on a television broadcast, tribute special when I make it big and famous. Look out for that one! :)
She is currently in the studios making her highly anticipated comeback album, which is due out around Christmas. I'm sure I don't even have to tell you how excited I am for that!
In other diva news:

-Did you guys watch Dolly perform on American Idol last night? She wore a headset and I think that just screwed it up. She didn't know what to do with her hands except throw them around everywhere. She is always fabulous, though, and I love her. The contestants did a cover of "9 to 5," which was a little too campy and just plum atrocious!

-Mariah Carey hit number one again on the charts with her new single "Touch My Body!" This makes her 18th #1 single, which beats out Elvis' previous record! She is now two behind The Beatles and says that she will never compare herself to them or Elvis but "this is a big day for women and minorities." That's right Mimi, butter people up to ensure you hit #1 three more times to be the highest selling artist EVER! Congratulations!
-Whitney still holds the title of the highest selling soundtrack of all time for "The Bodyguard."
I hope you guys have an awesome day! It is sunny and beautiful here. Spring is definitely peeping it's little head around the corner. Tune in tomorrow to finally see what the big surprise is! Have I just been pulling your leg all week to have something to write about everyday??? We'll see tomorrow!
Love you guys!
Josh
Enjoy this video that I did after a previous poll! It is an imitation of Whitney from Being Bobby Brown. Holla!

Bloggy Friend Update! *Updated*
Hellohey Bloggy Friends!
My friend Eddie has recently returned from a fabulous cruise. He has been blogging about it little by little as the week progresses. I am enjoying them quite immensely. The posts are fun and they are all accompanied by pictures! I have never been on a cruise before, so it's fun to read about the whole experience.
Stop by and check it out, if you are so inclined! It comes just in time for my recent Wanda Sykes video about working on a gay cruise!
In other Bloggy Friend news: Bloggy Friend Bill has just created a fantastic new video about his first year on YouTube. I am proud to say that I make a short cameo in it! His videos are always so fun to watch, and SO well made. You should really check this one out! I'm exited to say that he is coming for a visit in a few weeks. I can't wait!
Hope you're having a good night. I am at work now, but just wanted to relay the information. I love my bloggy friends and their blogs!
Love, Josh
* I stand corrected, Bloggy Friends. Eddie just emailed me to say that it wasn't actually a gay cruise they went on. It was a regular cruise and they just "gayed it up!"

Buenos Aires?
Nope. Not as of today anyway!
Hi Bloggy Friends!
While a trip to Buenos Aires would be fabulous, we don't have any such thing planned at the moment. My friends Casey and Hal went last year. The pictures and videos they shared has totally made BA one of my most desired travel destinations. Maybe we'll make it sometime soon. Besides a few small trips, we haven't made any huge vacation plans for the year. We have talked about it, though, and may come up with something in the near future.
So we're down to two options! Is it Whitney? Is it a puppy? Could it be both? or neither? Maybe I am just collecting data for a project in my statistics class!?!! You never know. Tune in tomorrow to find out more! :)
I hope you guys have an awesome day. I haven't ventured out into the world yet, but I can see through my windows that the sun is shining bright. This makes me very happy, following two days straight of rain and gloom. Did anyone see Dolly on American Idol last night? I thought she looked fantastic. That's the best I've seen her look in a long time. For a while there I was worried that she had maybe two or three too many surgeries - but it looks like she has pulled it together, just like Dolly always does. I love her!
Have a great day. I'll see you tomorrow!
Love, Josh
P.S. Enjoy this fabulous video that Casey and Hal made following their trip to BA last year. I hope it's ok that I post it, Mimi!

Vancouver!
Just joking! Did I have you there for a minute??? :)
Hey Bloggy Friends!
Today begins my countdown to the big surprise that I will be announcing at the end of the week. Each day I will be moving through the choices that aren't correct, before reaching the big one on maybe Thursday or Friday.
My Bloggy Friends know me pretty well. Vancouver is an awesome city, but there are no plans for us to move there at the moment. While it would be an exciting opportunity, right now is just not the best time for that. Alan just started his new job and I am finishing my first semester at Temple - it would be crazy for us to pick up and put it all on hold all over again! I guess if the option did come up I would be all for it, though. My bloggy friends know I love a challenge!
I hope you guys are having a nice week. So far it has been a muggy, rainy one in Philadelphia. School is going very well. I have some grades coming in from past assignments and am proud to say I am averaging a solid A in all of them! It feels good be moving along and especially to be doing well. I registered for my Fall classes this week. It looks like I will have a pretty good schedule - but we'll talk about that another day.
Have a good one and tune in tomorrow!
Love you all,
Josh
Enjoy this short slideshow of a few pictures from my first visit to Vancouver in 2003, with my friends Matthew (dark hair) and Aaron (red hair). We had such a great time that the three of us returned in 2006!
