Our Weekend: Exploring The Past and Future!

Hey Bloggy Friends!

We didn't really go into our weekend with any plans this time around. We were so busy last week that the weekend crept up and we really would have been fine just taking it easy. When Saturday came, though, we started getting restless. By the time noon rolled around we had already decided that we would take a short trip to Valley Forge, a nearby historical landmark. We have been wanting to check it out for a while, so now that the weather is warmer we made the trek!

I love history and have read several novels about the Revolutionary War (okay, I read one about Martha Washington). I couldn't wait to see what this place was all about. We ended up tackling an eight mile walk throughout the course of the day! By the end our feet were hurting and we were S-T-A-R-V-E-D. We did see a lot of great stuff, though. It's a great park that I totally recommend a visit to anyone who is a lover of history. My favorite part was taking a tour inside Washington's actual headquarters. The building is still standing and is totally in tact, besides a few minor adjustments. It was surreal to think that George and Martha were once standing in the same rooms I was in! Click HERE for more pictures of our adventure into the past!

On Sunday Alan coaxed me into going with him to The Franklin Institute downtown. This is the local science museum, and they are housing a huge Star Wars exhibit that he has been wanting to see since it first came out. I'm not big into science museums, because they are usually jam-packed with kids. This time was no exception, but I just tried to ignore it and enjoy myself. I was actually very excited to see the Star Wars exhibit. My Dad showed me these movies when I was a tater tot and I LOVED them. I had all the toys and watched the movies over and over and over again throughout the course of my childhood. It still brings back fond memories, so it was great to see all the relics from the movie set. My favorite part was actually meeting a Storm Trooper and getting a picture with him! Besides Princess Lea, the Storm Troopers were my favorite! I loved how they were all white and sleak and how their feet clinked on the spaceship when they were running! Click HERE for photos of our adventure into the future!

I hope you guys are all set for a fabulous week. I wasn't very good about posting last week because I had a lot of work to do at school (i.e. three papers and a mid-term!). I should be in a more relaxed state this week so I can get caught up on everything else. Stay tuned later this week when I reveal our big surprise! I few of you (Casey and Bill) have made some good guesses. But I won't spill the beans a minute too early!! :)~

Have a great day and enjoy the video!

I Had A Wanda Sykes Saturday!

Hi, Bloggy Friends!!

I hope you all had a great weekend. On Saturday we took a trip to Atlantic City for an overnight stay. For Valentines Day, Alan got me tickets to see Wanda Sykes in Atlantic City this weekend. I am a huge fan of her comedy. I seriously think she may be the funniest person I have ever heard in my life. She was playing at the same casino we saw Diana Ross, the BORGATA.

She didn't go on until 11 pm, so we had a whole day to knock around Atlantic City. We went to dinner at a delicious cuban restaurant called CUBA LIBRE - which is right in the heart of downtown AC. The meal was delicious overall, despite the small portion sizes. Isn't it funny how it seems the more you pay for a meal - the smaller it gets! Geez. I did enjoy their house-made rum selection!

At 11 we made our way to the Borgata to see Wanda in one hilarious show. She stayed on for nearly two hours straight! I'm not lying when I say I had a smile on my face the WHOLE time. She kept the crowd in stitches for real. If you guys are ever in need of a good two hour laughfest - I suggest you get on the computer and find out when Wanda Sykes is coming to a town near you! I love this girl!

Anyways, I made videos of Wanda's opening act KEITH ROBINSON, a segment of her talking about WORKING ON A GAY CRUSE and another on THE GOVERNMENT. Click the perspective links to check them out! They are all great clips, so I highly suggest you check them out. There is some offensive language, though, so consider this a fair warning!

In other news - diva extraordinaire MIMI had a very exciting Saturday himself. In his most recent post he talks about the diva he saw at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday Night. Be sure to check that out!

I hope you guys have a great start to the week, Bloggy Friends. I look forward to talking more with you as the week progresses.

Love you all!

Josh

A New Poll!

Hi, Bloggy Friends! I hope you guys are having a great weekend so far. We have some fun plans tonight that I will share with you soon. Meanwhile, check back to Casey's blog in the next few days to see which Country Queen he is going to see tonight at the Grand Ole Opry. We're all chomping at the bit to find out! That bitch better get a picture!

My main reason for posting now is because I have a new poll up! I told you recently that I have a surprise coming up that I am very excited about. It looks like it's going to work out, but I thought it would be fun to see if maybe you could guess what it is!?!?!

The poll is just to the right of this post. I know the color of the font is a little hard to see, but I couldn't find another color that looked good with the rest of the blog. If you look close enough you can see what it says.

Have a fun weekend, Bloggy Friends. I'll talk to you soon!

Your Face Stays In My Mind

Hey Bloggy Friends!

I hope everyone is having a great week. I started back to school yesterday and it's all going well. I have a lot of assignments to do and tests to study for, but with every one completed I am that much closer to the end of the semester. I don't like to wish my life away, but it will be nice to be all finished and have these credits behind me. I met with my advisor and he foretold a potential Spring '10 graduation date. It's a while to go, but it feels good to have a solid date in mind!

Not much else is going on right now. The kittens have completely recovered - except for the wire stitches they still have in their abdomens. We'll get those taken out a week from today.

Today was the first day I didn't wear a jacket to school! I am so ready for the summer. Perhaps it was jumping the gun just a little bit, but I can't wait to shed those jackets and sweaters for shorts and T's!

I got a new CD today. It is totally random, but I really love it. It's Natalie Cole's debut album called "Inseparable," from 1975. The song that most of you will recognize is "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)." This music is a lot more soulful and funkier than her later, sappier, adult-contemporary stuff.

I get new cd's a lot because I am part of this awesome website called LaLa. You should check it out. It's essentially a community of people who share music with one another. You get new cd's when you trade some of your own for only $1.99 - and a percentage goes to the artists! Check it out, it's a lot of fun!

Have a great night, Bloggy Friends. I'm going to leave you with this LINK just in case you are at all interested! It's a link to the donation page on Hillary's website. I'm not trying to push it on anyone, but just letting you know it's out there. I have contributed a little, here and there. It is especially important to me during this month, because they are in PA! They take donations as low as $5!

Bon Voyage, Bloggy Friends. I have a potential surprise to report in the next few weeks. I think Puss knows about it, so keep that trap closed! It's not a big deal, but I don't want to talk to much about it yet in case it doesn't fall through. I still have to try and butter Alan up a little bit!

Have a great night. I love you all!

Gettin' "Fixed!"

Hey Bloggy Friends!

Well, the time came for Abigail and Mary Todd to be spayed. We waited until they were about six months old before we took them in. I've been nervous about it for months, but we feel that it is definitely the best thing for their well-being.

We have a wonderful veterinarian on Main Street Manayunk, named Dr. Simpson. He has administered their shots and given them check-ups over the past few months - so we felt the kittens would be very safe in his hands. He really is such a nice, gentle man.

Today's video is all about our/their experience getting "fixed." It was a pitiful sight when they were all finished. They were completely dead to the world. I won't say too much though, you can check the video and see for yourselves! Feel free to share your stories about having pets spayed or neutered. I'm sure Bloggy Friend Bill has a ton of experiences! You should see all the animals he and Gary have!

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow officially marks the last day of my Spring Break. I'll be hitting the campus on Monday all over again - setting myself in for the final stretch! The semester has flown by so far. I can't believe Spring Break is already over!

Have a great day and I'll be talkin' to ya real soon!

Big Love,

Josh

A Dream Come True!

Hey Bloggy Friends!

One of the highlights of Rick's visit this week was going to see Hillary Clinton at a rally on Tuesday. She spoke to a crowd of thousands at Temple University in a forum she refers to as "Solutions For America." Seeing Hillary was a dream come true for both Rick and I. When she came out of the curtain and I saw her with my own eyes, I teared up. After months of thinking of her, following her campaign and talking about her I felt so emotional, baby.

The diverse crowd was so pumped up and she was very energetic herself. She spoke mainly about the things she would do when she becomes President - like universalizing healthcare, bringing the troops home, boosting the economy and creating new jobs - in Philadelphia particularly.

It was such an exciting night that I will not likely forget. Pennsylvania is a huge state for Hillary. I imagine you will be hearing a lot about us in the news over the next month. I am so glad that the race has made it thus far so that I can go in that ballot box and put a huge checkmark next to Hillary's name!

I hope you guys are having a great week. It has been so fun having Rick here. We've been doing a lot, so stay tuned to another video or two of his visit.

I love you all, Bloggy Friends - enjoy the video! and if you want to watch more of her speech than the small amount of clips I pulled for this video - you can watch it HERE

Talk to ya'll soon!

A S'puss'cial Visitor!

Hey Bloggy Friends!

It's been a while since I blogged last. I am still reeling from Hillary's big win last Tuesday. I'm so excited about the coming month here in PA. We're in the spotlight now, Baby!

I've been having a really fun time lately. One of my best friends (and Bloggy Friend), Rick, is visiting from Louisville. He has been here since Thursday. He will be here a whole week, so we have plenty of time to leisurely see the city and have some fun together. We've been spending our time exploring different parts of the city, like Center City, the Gayborhood, Manayunk and Ardmore. We've also dined, thrifted and chatted over coffee - some of our favorite things to do together. It's been great having him here. I'm sure some of you recognize his name from the comments he leaves from time to time, so say hello next time you see him!

Here is a quick video of our afternoon and a little about what we have been up to lately. Expect a few more posts in the coming days - we have some exciting plans up our sleeves!

I hope your week is off to a great start. Did I mention I am on Spring Break? It's a little early for me, but I'll take it!

Talk to ya soon, trannies.

Love, Josh

Comeback Clinton!

Good Morning, Bloggy Friends!

I was tossing and turning all night, wondering what the outcome of the election would be today. When I awoke this morning it was all worth it. My girl pulled it through! After tireless efforts to campaign in Texas and Ohio, she pulled out major wins - that she no doubt is extremely proud of.

I am glowing with joy for her today. After a terrible, February, she has made a comeback worth recognizing! This victory succeeds in reinforcing Hillary's reputation as a fighter. She is not afraid to put everything she has into getting the job done. That is exactly what this country needs after the treacherous B@*h administration!

Go Hillary! I love you and wish you luck in the coming months - on to Pennsylvania!!

I love you all, Bloggy Friends!

I'm so happy!

Josh

Thank you Texas, Rhode Island and Ohio!!!

Bloggin' For Hillary!

Hi Bloggy Friends!

Well the weekend has come to a close. I hope it was a good one for all of you. Have you tried the Turmeric trick yet? I couldn't find any at Trader Joe's, so I'm going to have to wait until I hit up another grocery store. I can't wait!

Today was a really exciting day in the Middleton-Graves household. As a member of Team Hillary I received an email last week about the first, open election meeting in Philadelphia for the Clinton campaign. As I may have mentioned before, I am a strong Hillary supporter. Nothing could stop us from hitting up that meeting today!

The headquarters were located downtown. There was a huge turnout of dozens of diverse, excited people. We all had a chance to introduce ourselves and tell why we thought Hillary would make the best President. There were news cameras in the room, so of course I had to take the opportunity to make a fool out of myself by whooping and hollering something about cleaning up the mess Bush has made. I got a good response though and it was a lot of fun.

Mayor Michael Nutter, the highly popular, newly elected mayor of Philadelphia, made a surprise appearance. When the crowd died down from it's frenzy over his presence, he delivered a nice speech announcing his support for Hillary and why he thinks she would be the best candidate. It was great to see him there.

Vote for Hillary! Especially my bloggy friends in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont!!!

Enjoy the video I have of today's experience - stay until the end to catch our brief appearance on the 6:30 news here in Philadelphia!

I love you all (and so does Hillary!),

Josh

Natural Beauty Tips 101

Hi Bloggy Friends! I hope you're having an awesome weekend. Mine is low-key, but highly satisfying!

Today I have a beauty tip for all of you who, like myself, may suffer from sleepy, morning eye syndrome! I recently heard that the spice turmeric, because of it's excellent anti-inflammatory powers, is a great remedy for puffy eyes. For centuries women of India have used a TBL of turmeric in a glass of warm milk or tea before bedtime so that they can awake the next morning with fresh, sparkly, happy eyes!

I love natural beauty tips, and can't wait to give this one a try!

Have a great rest of the weekend, I'll catch ya on the other side!

Love, Josh
