Quickie: A Gem
Once, while living in Chicago, I went to audition for a band that was looking for a new singer. When I arrived I was told that the bass player was actually the brother of the late, great Minnie Riperton! I didn't get the gig, but what an honor it is to say that I'm two degrees from Minnie!

Always in awe of the range of your musical knowledge/appreciation. Fascinating how important Chicago was in music.
All the tiems I was having fun mimicking this song, I had no idea of the beautiful woman who sang it.
