Short & Sweet: Catching Up

Hey Bloggy Friends! I hope everyone is ready to hit this new week with momentous speed and excitement! I've made a decision that in order to successfully accomplish everything I need to in school I need to start buckling myself down harder and getting into gear. This means that I'm going to have to start weeding out a few extra-curricular activities that I currently enjoy - such as television and weekends.

There is just too much for me to focus on to allow myself to continuously be distracted by television shows like Big Brother, and I especially need to motivate myself to do more school work on the weekends. Oh, Bloggy Friends, it's a difficult process but one that I find to be imperative if I want to finish up my first semester at Temple with a good GPA.

Sorry I've been harping on and on about school lately, it's just the biggest thing happening in my life right now. I haven't found my transition quite as easy as I thought it would be. After taking a semester off and traveling about like a nomad, I figured I would be all ready to get back into the school groove - but it just ain't that easy. I've spoiled myself to a certain degree, but I'm breaking myself down now!

This was quite an eventful weekend for us. My friend Nicole flew into town from San Francisco on Thursday, so we have been busy showing her around and having a great time ever since. Nicole is seriously one of the most genuinely sweet people I have ever met in my life. She doesn't have a bad bone in her body - for reals. It was like a breath of fresh air to have her stay with us over the weekend. She flew out this morning around 6:30. It was sad to wake up and not have her there this morning - but I guess life moves on and I know she'll be back to visit one day very soon. Stay tuned for a video of all the weekends events!

Well, I'll keep this short and sign off for now. I hope you guys are having a great day. I am chilling at school right now waiting for my next class. Speaking of school - why am I sitting in this library typing? It's President's Day, we should be off! It would have been so awesome to have had the day off after hosting my friend Nicole all weekend. A nice relaxing day to catch up would have been pretty. Oh well, though. I hope whatever institution you are working for has allowed you to have the day off today. I guess Temple just doesn't care about the Presidents! I'm more partial to the First Ladies, myself.

Have a good one, Bloggy Friends.

Love ya much!

Josh

That's so good of you to stay focused on school. I'm sure it's hard getting back in the groove of things.

And not to rub it in, I didnt have to work today!

gurl, i hear ya and feel ya on the busy academic schedule. i'm having a difficult time as well. i'm feeling a little burn out i think. i guess thats normal, but you just have to kick in the self discipline and force yourself to do what you have to do to attain this goal you've set for yourself.

remember, you are the ONLY ONE in control of your destiny! you call the shots and you make the rules! for me, accomplishing a college degree has been a dream for me since i was a small child. i will be the first in my family to do so. i graduated high school with honors and was the first to inducted into the Natl Honor Soc in my class! After high school, i wanted to play and party and play some more and i did! a year later i began classes at LWC and after 2 yrs, stopped. for years i lived an aimless existence. i had no goals and had little self worth. well now that life has handed me all these other opportunities i have chosen to do something positive with myself as you are doing with Temple. i admire anyone working toward a degree and any personal goal for that matter. it shows you feel you are worth it and you are girl! we are worth it! we must continue on our path! there will be temptations along the way, but remember the final product! YOU and only YOU are the designer of that final product! get the book The Secret and read it over and over. it's very inspiring. i know you've seen the movie, but having the book is very inspirational.

well..... i have turned this one into a major journal entry huh? anyway... remember on spring break, no workload, just travel, entertainment, and taking a bite out of the big apple! remember for years we've dreamed of doing nyc together! it's finally happening and in only a few weeks!

hang in there josh! you have alan there to support you. that's a blessing. just keep working! no pain no gain!

remember, WE ARE WORTH IT!

bye gurl,
love ya,
-rick
