The Guest Room is Empty Again.

Happy Sunday, Bloggy Friends!

I hope you are all having a glorious Sunday afternoon. We woke up bright and early this morning (5:15 am) to take Nicole to the airport. We had a great week together. I'm glad she was able to come back for another visit while Philadelphia was warm and sunny. We did so much throughout the week, that I'm pretty exhausted now that it's all over. It feels nice to have a week of relaxation ahead of me.

The rest of our day has been filled with a little down time, with a nice mixture of chores to even it out. We went to the grocery, mowed the backyard and planted some herbs in two pots in the kitchen. A little later we are going to make salmon, as we always do on Sundays. I'm looking forward to a nice dinner in. We have been eating out so much this week. It's all been good, healthy food, but nothing beats a meal at home with Sugar. Well, unless it's a meal at home with Mom, but unfortunately that's not happening today.

Yesterday marked the month-long countdown until school starts. I'm really looking forward to getting back. It will be a very busy semester, but I'm ready to get at it. I should only have four more semesters to go before I finish! I'm not sure exactly what the rest of the summer will hold for us. I think we want to try and take another little road trip, just the two of us, before September. We've been so busy this summer, that we haven't really taken a trip alone. I'm thinking something very chill. I also want to try to make it to NYC again before school starts, so I can get some school supplies and fall clothes. Bloggy Friend Bill may also be coming for an overnight visit. That should be lots of fun!! I guess we'll see how it all unfolds. I'm sure you'll be the first to know!

I guess I'll run for now. It has been fun "spending" my summer with you all. I don't say enough about how much I appreciate the fact that you stop by from time to time to see what's happening in my life. I do enjoy keeping up with my blog, and the fact that you read and take part makes it seem even that much more worthwhile. I have the best Bloggy Friends ever. I also want to thank you for keeping up with your own blogs. Making one on my own wouldn't be half as fun if I didn't have yours to read as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I love you all and hope you have a wonderful evening.

Josh

Save the guest room for me! I'll be there!!! I'll be there!!!

I often feel bad that I am not particularly bloggy and don't give much of a window into my private life. Soooo ... here we go. Sunday night LIVE at Bill and Gary's.

As I type I am making a homemade pizza to go with the red wine that I started sipping at about 1:30 today (yeah the nondrinking thing is so over ... for now). Here is the genuine, copyrighted Bill Fogle pizza crust recipe (it's actually quite fabulous):

*1.25 cups HOT water
*1 tbsp sea salt
*1 tbsp raw honey
*1/3 cup olive oil
*1.75-2 cups sifted white unbleached flour
*1-1.5 tbsp of dry yeast (never use the "fast-acting" stuff ... it's poison)
*1 tbsp rye flour
*1 tbsp yellow corn meal
*1.5+ tbsp whole wheat flour

Using an electric mixer, put in the hot water and honey, then just as it begins to cool off (but is still pretty darn warm) add the yeast. Wait a sec, then add the rye flour, corn meal, olive oil, and whole wheat flour. Also add some white flour. Then add the salt (don't let the salt get too near the unmixed yeast).

Either turn out onto board and continue mixing or continue using electric mixer with dough hook (I use the latter). Mix in the remainder of the white flour (and possibly more) depending on whether or not the dough is becoming elastic and independent of your hands (or the hook). Mix and knead until there is a silken finish to the dough ball (kindof like how I look on a bad day!), then turn into a greased container (pot, vessel) and allow to rise about 2.5-3 hours.

Turn out onto your baking surface (pan, etc.) and top with fresh tomatoes mixed in with sliced onion, basil, oregano, a touch of olive oil (and anything else you desire!). Bake until perfect.

Wow... that was an early start to the day. It's so nice that Nicole got to come back again. Sounds like you all always have a great time.

Another month off will be awesome and a great time to get geared up for school again.

I'm so glad you've shared your summer with us too!

Enjoy your Salmy Sunday!!!

Nicole is so sweet! I'm glad she got to visit NY while on the East coast. She's now back in San Francisco living it up in the sunshine amongst all the beautiful scenery, the lovely year round flowers in bloom, and that San Francisco breeze like no other! Ahhh! No wonder she wears such a big smile all the time!

Whit, you know I love stopping by your blog. It's addictive just like a cup of coffee! Gotta have it! Keep it coming! I love the video compilations!

Bill is stopping by Philly again!? That's great! I would love to visit with you two. What a threesome! I've been trying to get Bill to give blogging a try. Don't you think he should try it out?
