Scarlett O'Momma

Good Evening, Bloggy Friends.

I just had to stop by to share these pictures my Mom sent today. I don't think I've seen anything so cute in the longest time. She, and a few fellow co-workers, sponsored a banquet in my hometown in which they dressed like true ladies of the South. I got a big kick out of the photos, and I thought you would too.

I hope you're having a great night. My friend Rand flew in, on a red-eye, from L.A. this morning. We've been hanging out all afternoon, having a great time. It's always good to see old friends.

Have a fantastic weekend. I'll talk to you soon.

Love, Josh

P.S. In case you don't know, my Mom is the brunette, with the pink shawl. Where she found the dress, I have no idea!

Kentucky Road Trip, Pt. 1 (Lancaster)

Hello.Hey, Bloggy Friends!

Enjoy part one of my recent Kentucky road trip series. This video covers much of our first day - arriving in Kentucky and spending time with my Mom and family in Lancaster. We had such an amazing time. It was so good to see everyone. Visiting home in the spring/summer is 100x better than being there at Christmas, when everyone is too rushed to even scratch their butts. We were blessed with wonderful weather and my mom made a fantastic dinner. It's one of my favorites - Grease Salad! I know it may sound strange, and rather unhealthy, but it's an entree you can only enjoy about twice a summer - when the garden lettuce grows and is ready to be be cut. This is how it works: You make a salad out of fresh garden lettuce, add some radishes, bacon (if you prefer), and eggs and then drizzle piping hot grease over top of it! I love the way it sizzles. It really is so delicious and it brings back a ton of childhood memories. Mmmmmm.

I hope you guys are having a great extra day off. Are you doing anything special to celebrate or commemorate? I believe we are just going to chill, maybe take a walk, play with the puppy and make tofu hot dogs tonight for dinner! We thought it sounded good and American.

Enjoy today's video. Stay tuned for part two within the coming week!

Love you all,

Josh

The Hump!

Hi, Bloggy Friends! Thank you all so much for the nice birthday wishes you sent to my mother. I'm not sure she's seen the post yet, but I know she will appreciate it immensely when she does get around to reading it. She had a great day. She is the oldest of four sisters - and you better believe that they went all out to let the whole town know that she turned 50! She sent me pictures of signs they put up around town, pictures they hung up and even an announcement on the marque where she works. I told her that she may be an old fart, but at least she's popular! 50 is SO the new 30! Ask Oprah.

I hope you are having a great week. I have had a great time since getting back to work. We have been super busy, because a new show is opening up soon that everyone is excited about - M. BUTTERFLY. It is a non-opera, dramatic version of Madam Butterfly. I'm really excited to see it. If you're going to be in town let me know and I'll try to hook you up with some tickets. Hurry though, because they are selling out fast!

Being back to work is hogging a lot of my Bloggy Video time, I'll get around to more of those as time allows. I still have so much footage from Christmas that I am trying to decide what to do with it all! Stay tuned.

One more thing I wanted to add before I leave is that Alan and I watched the final episode of the final season of ROME last night. For those of you who don't know, Rome was a series that aired on HBO in the past few years. It is truly one of the most fascinating series on television I have ever seen. The sets and the costumes are so elaborate - they spare no expense. Another thing that impressed me was that they took a lot of time to make sure that the events of history that they portrayed are as historically accurate as possible. It is a beautiful show that I enjoyed so much. I definitely recommend renting it if you are a fan of history, drama and even a few hundred, steamy sex scenes! Over the course of two seasons the story line covers the succession of Julius Caesar - to his bludgeoned death by Brutus, all the way up until the tragic demise of Antony & Cleopatra. It's magnificent, it's superb and I'm really sad that it's over :(

Have an awesome day/night, Bloggy Friends.

Love, Josh
